Wines of the Month
Humberto Canale Pinot Noir
This Humberto Canale Pinot Noir from 2014 is just a great little Pinot with everything you would want from it and so much more… a wine that makes you want to revisit it and it also makes you want to visit Patagonia!
A shiny red with dark brown reflexes, notes of ripe forest strawberries, warmed raspberries a touch of spice and herbal pine tree, very inviting. On the palate there are layers of balanced red fruit, focused herbal aromas of rosemary with a plum and tobacco finish, fresh yet deep with fine nuances in a lighter body. A beautiful food wine for sure, everything from fish to white meat with sauces, different cheeses or even red meat comes to mind, this is my go to wine with an incredible price point for simply good Pinot!
Humberto Canale Sauvignon Blanc
Humberto Canale is a traditional Estate from Patagonia, they keep producing amazing stuff with a lot of quality and character, coming from this challenging spot on earth to produce a wine that reminds one of the great wines from high altitudes and the harsher and also famous regions in Europe.
The Humberto Canale Sauvignon Blanc 2016 is one of these wines, it has a beautiful straw yellow color along with aromas of ripe gooseberry, juniper berries white flowers, honeycomb and fresh cut grass. An altogether delicious, clean and crisp Sauvignon Blanc with ripe fruit a good acidity and length, what more do you want, right?
Enjoy it with goat cheese, shellfish, light pasta or risotto dishes with fresh herbs, green grilled vegetables and lemon, or just as aperitif, perfect.
